We create best-in-class shaft coupling designs catering to the needs of the medical industry.
S.S. White is the premier supplier of flexible shaft products. These shafts cater to various requirements such as component connection, compensating for lateral and angular offsets, navigating obstacles, dampening vibrations, and managing displacement. They can be used with or without casing, depending on the length and intended application.
S.S.White operates in the medical market with highly specialized flexible shaft products for surgical and testing procedures, as well as its own branded line of Shukla Medical surgical instruments for the removal of orthopedic implants. These products are created through close collaboration with Shukla Medical engineers and leading surgeons in the field. These cross-functional teams work together in the surgical suite and cadaver labs to refine the concepts behind these instruments and improve the techniques for their use. In 1998, S.S. White acquired the medical product division of SnapOn Tools and renamed it S.S. White Medical Products. Then, in 2007, it rebranded as Shukla Medical. Today, Shukla Medical is the industry leader in orthopedic implant extraction tools.
Serving a wide range of applications
We provide customized solutions that cater to the distinct needs of various applications.
A biopsy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to collect abnormal tissue samples from the body through a small incision. This procedure has replaced more painful and invasive methods of tissue collection. S.S. White flexible shafts play a crucial role in transmitting rotary motion from mechanical consoles to biopsy probes.
Flexible shafts play a crucial role in LASIK, a widely used surgical procedure for correcting Myopia, Astigmatism, and Hyperopia. During this surgery, the cornea, which is the outer layer of the eye, is delicately sliced using a surgical blade that is powered by two S.S. White flexible shafts.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) offers a detailed look into the human body's inner workings. In vascular radiology MRI procedures, a contrasting liquid is often injected with precision to enhance the clarity of the images.
